4 Reasons to Be Excited for Walt Disney World Stays This Summer!

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

From racing across the Grid on TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise and saving the galaxy on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, to immersing yourself in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park or checking out Roundup Rodeo BBQ, the newest eatery at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s no limit to the excitement that awaits guests at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

Here are some of the top reasons to be excited for a Walt Disney World Resort stay this summer:

1. Saving with Special Resort Offers

Disney World is offering summer travel deals that allow you to save up to 25% on stays at select Disney Resort hotels. Florida residents and Annual Passholders can also take advantage of additional offers. We’re also excited to share that Annual Passholders can save 30% on select voyages aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – a first-of-its-kind 2-night immersive adventure that continues to be among the highest-rated experiences by guests visiting Walt Disney World!

Valid for voyages on the following departure dates in spring and summer 2023:

  • April 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29

  • May 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29 and 31

  • June 2, 4, 6, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26 and 28

It’s the most immersive Star Wars story ever created—one where you live a unique experience and journey further into a Star Wars adventure than they ever dreamed possible. And it’s yours to discover with this special offer.

2. Getting Extra Time to Play in the Parks

One of the best (and most popular) benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is extra time in the theme parks*, where you can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into the theme parks – every day! And when you stay at a Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort, you can also enjoy extended evening hours, in select parks, on select nights. On our last visit, we were able to get EIGHT attractions done during extended hours at Magic Kingdom. While summer brings longer days, this extra time in the parks will allow you to experience more Disney thrills with friends and family...and at lower temps!

3. Complimentary Overnight Self-Parking is Back!

Disney World has made several updates to improve the guest experience, including bringing back complimentary overnight self-parking. Whether renting a car or taking the ultimate Disney road trip, you can enjoy this perk when staying at a hotel within the Disney Resorts Collection. Disney Resort hotel guests can also enjoy complimentary standard parking at Walt Disney World theme parks and complimentary on-site transportation options like buses, monorails, boats, and Disney Skyliner.

4. Disney H2O Glow After Hours at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Splash into magic—and enjoy lower wait times for popular attractions—at this 3-hour nighttime event over at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon! Disney H2O Glow After Hours takes place select nights May 20, 2023 to September 2, 2023. This special event is held from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, but you can get a head start on the fun by entering the park at 6:00 PM—a couple of hours before the event officially begins.

During this limited-capacity event, you can:

  • Experience Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park in a new light—illuminated at night.

  • Enjoy some favorite attractions—like Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Castaway Creek, raft rides and waterslides*—with lower wait times since the number of tickets for this event is limited.

  • Move and groove to hot beats during a DJ dance party.

  • See some beloved Disney Characters.
